The Liberty Alliance announced Monday that IBM, NEC, NTT and RSA Security have passed Liberty testing for the Security Assertion Markup Language 2.0.

IBM, NEC, NTT and RSA Security passed interoperability testing at Libertys recent conformance event in Tokyo during the week of Nov. 7-11, Liberty Alliance officials said.

The companies demonstrated that their products met interoperability standards for Liberty Federation.

These products join 70 other identity products and solutions from vendors that have passed Liberty interoperability testing.

The products that passed included IBMs IBM Tivoli FIM (Federated Identity Manager); NECs LEP (Liberty-Enabled Proxy) Module, a component of NEMIP (NEC Mobile Internet Platform); RSAs Federated Identity Manager; and I-dLive, NTTs identity information sharing module, Liberty officials said.

“Only when identity products from multiple vendors interoperate will organizations be able to realize all of the benefits of wide-scale federation,” said Timo Skytta, vice president of the Liberty Alliance, in a statement.

“We welcome products from IBM, NEC, NTT and RSA Security to the growing list of identity solutions that are helping organizations around the world deploy more successful identity solutions.”

Moreover, “Libertys Interoperable Program is about creating a global ecosystem of identity solutions that have been proven to work together in an open federated network environment,” said Roger Sullivan, chair of the Liberty Alliance conformance program and vice president of business development for Oracles Identity Management.

“Since Liberty launched the program in 2003, identity products that have passed interoperability testing have been deployed extensively in a variety of industries and vertical market segments worldwide.”
