First, there was audio collaboration. Now, Sonexis Inc. is rolling out a new appliance for Web collaboration.

NetCollaborator is a Web conferencing appliance that handles such tasks as scheduling, document sharing, whiteboarding, co-browsing, polling and sending invitations.

Like the companys Audio Collaborator—which provides audio conferencing capabilities—NetCollaborator allows companies to host such services in-house rather than rely on a service provider.

The plug-and-play appliance resides behind the enterprise firewall and requires no specialized IT administration skills or client software, said officials with the Boston company.

NetCollaborator can support from 30 to 150 connections. Upgrade packs are also available to add 10, 50, 100 or 120 connections.

The appliance is in beta, with availability expected by June. Pricing will start at $25,000.
