      1IBM Connections: TD Bank

      TD Bank, an IBM Connections social software customer, is the sixth largest bank in North America with 85,000 employees in almost 3,000 locations around the globe. The bank runs on teams collaborating to serve more than 19 million customers. With help from IBM software, 500,000 connections have been made, 2,000 blogs are spreading across the organization and 17,000 communities have been formed.

      2Students Go Social

      IBM officials announced that they are helping students at York Universitys Schulich School of Business develop leadership skills by learning to collaborate on coursework virtually in the cloud. Last fall, 400 students enrolled in “Management 1000” at the school used IBM’s social networking services to aid their semester-long project of creating a comprehensive business plan. Schulich students used IBMs SmartCloud for Social Business portfolio (formerly LotusLive) for online meetings, file sharing, decision-making, workload-sharing and overall project management.

      At Connect and Lotusphere, Big Blue’s clients discussed how they used social business solutions to communicate and innovate. Electrolux uses IBM Connections software to enable employees to more easily gain insight from information and data. Chefs at Newly Weds Foods, a food ingredient company with 65,000 clients, use IBM SmartCloud Engage to better collaborate to develop recipes across global time zones using any browser-based device, including tablets and smartphones.
