Lync Activity Feed
Lync’s Activity Feed displays your contacts, their current status messages and their availability. From here, you can perform all of Lync’s various functions, including searching for contacts or starting communication.
Application Sharing
Lync users can share documents and PowerPoint presentations with a group. In turn, those group members can make their own notations to the images and text.
Placing Online Calls
Lync opens a traditional-looking dial pad when it comes time to place VOIP calls.
Video Chat
Lync also allows peer-to-peer video chat.
Name and Skill Set
In addition to being able to search your contacts by name, you can also do so by skill set or interests. By typing in “Financial,” such as in the example here, you can generate a list of relevant people.
