MPC Computers last week continued its drive to grow its product line beyond desktops, unveiling a new four-way server.

MPC—formerly MicronPC—rolled out its NetFrame 6600 server (see picture below), which is powered by up to four Intel 2GHz Xeon MP processors and offers up to 2MB of Level 3 on-die cache.

The 6600, which comes in 4U (7-inch) rack-optimized or 7U (12.25-inch) pedestal configurations, also offers Ultra 320 hard drives and an integrated Ultra 320. It can be expanded with up to 10 hot-swappable hard drives.

The server is available now starting at $7,049, which includes one 1.5GHz Xeon MP chip and 512MB of synchronous dynamic RAM.
