With the release of a new VOIP-optimized keyboard Monday, Logitech hopes to let your fingers do the walking. Or is that talking?

Logitech announced three new additions to its family of cordless desktops: the Logitech EasyCall Desktop, the Logitech Cordless Desktop MX 3200 Laser mouse, and the Logitech Cordless Desktop LX 710 Laser. only the latter product will begin shipping this month; the others will wait for a fall or winter launch.

The introduction of voice-over-IP technology and the growth of broadband have ushered in a revolutionary change in how people can communicate through their PC. Logitechs EasyCall Desktop, priced at $129.99, looks to simplify that transition with the EasyCall Desktop.

The EasyCall Desktop, keyboard is the worlds first combination of a mouse, keyboard, headset and speakerphone, Logitech claims. The speakerphone acts as the control center for Internet calls. It includes integrated controls for volume, mute, call pick-up and hang-up. Logitechs RightSound Technology also eliminates echoes which allows for clear headset-free Internet phone calls, according to Logitech.

The cordless EasyCall keyboard provides further integrated controls to launch Internet communications applications, change a users online status, and make and accept calls. Its speed-dial controls offer one-touch calling while storing telephone numbers or IP addresses associated with user names.

EasyCall Desktop is optimized for use with Internet calling applications such as Skype, Yahoo! Messenger with Voice, AOLs AIM. The keyboard also provides one-touch access to other PC applications and a media panel to control digital music in applications such as Apples iTunes and Windows Media Player. Logitechs EasyCall Desktop will be available in the U.S. and Europe beginning in mid-September.

Along with the EasyCall Desktop, the Logitech Cordless Desktop MX 3200 Laser and Cordless Desktop LX 710 Laser both provide wireless integrated technology to streamline desktop productivity. The Cordless Desktop MX 3200 Laser features a search/zoom panel on the keyboard for navigating content and a One-Touch Search button on the mouse to search webpages and computer files. The One-Touch search can be customized to use search engines search Google, Yahoo!, or MSN to automatically look up a highlighted word.

The Cordless Desktop MX3200 is also the first Logitech product to feature AgIONs antimicrobial compound, providing protection against the growth of a broad range of bacteria, mold and mildew.
