Telecommuters and branch office workers can sometimes fall behind the IT curve because of their remote locations. To give service providers a way to deliver value-added services to small and remote offices, Filanet Corp. has launched a Web-based application for automatic service provisioning.

With Service Provisioning Portal, service providers can centrally create and manage offerings on Filanets delivery system, which sits at the customer site. Called InterJak200, the system acts as a router, server and security appliance. Service providers can automatically deliver services on remotely installed platforms and apply policies across thousands of InterJaks grouped by customer, location or parameters defined by customers.

Enterprises also benefit by receiving more custom-tailored services. The system automatically creates billing records for services delivered.

Filanet, of Sunnyvale, Calif., can host SPP or install it at a customer site if the customer has an on-site Linux server. The product is available now and is priced according to service provider requirements and the number of InterJak systems supported.
