And the Emmy goes to … Google.
For the first time, the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Foundation plans to make available interviews its conducted, for historys sake, with hundreds of celebrities.
The latest addition to Googles database is another sign of how search engines are focusing on the quality of the content they make available to users.
Thats a shift from the “bigger is better” motto of the last few years, where search engines focused on building as big as possible a catalog of Web sites.
Some 75 of the 284 interviews, each about 30 minutes long, were available as of Wednesday at Google Video.
A spokeswoman for the foundation, one of three responsible for televisions Emmy awards, had no comment when asked if other search engines will also get a chance to offer the videos to their users.
