Microsoft Postpones IE Re-Patch ‘Indefinitely’

Microsoft was on tap to fix on August 22 an Internet Explorer patch it issued on August 8, last Patch Tuesday. But now, it’s uncertain when and if Microsoft will repatch the IE patch. Microsoft is citing software distribution problems involving corporate patching systems for the postponement. Meanwhile, making matters worse, the original IE patch that Microsoft was going to fix has introduced a new exploitable vulnerability, according to eEye Digital Security. Microsoft has confirmed eEye’s discovery.
