SPX announced last month that Microsoft has agreed to pay $60 million to the company to settle a patent infringement lawsuit.
A jury in November awarded SPXs software unit, Imagexpo, $62.3 million in compensatory damages because Microsoft had infringed on a patent for conferencing software. SPX said at the time that the jurys decision was subject to appeal.
Imagexpo sued Microsoft in October 2002, alleging the software company infringed on an Imagexpo patent through its NetMeeting Whiteboard feature. SPX makes technical products and systems, industrial products and services, flow technology, and service solutions.
