Convergence, which kicks off today in Orlando, Fl, is Microsofts annual SMB customer conference for the Microsoft Business Solutions division.

The InfoSec World security conference, also in Orlando, starts Monday, as well. Microsoft is one of the main sponsors of that one.

On Wednesday, the VSLive/SpeechTek/Microsoft Mobile Devcon triple-header commences in San Francisco, Calif.. As weve noted previously, Chairman Gates is on tap to keynote the shindig (unless he gets called away at the eleventh hour to speak with EU Commissioner Monti, like CEO Steve Ballmer was last week). Microsoft is expected to unveil yet another Whidbey Visual Studio alpha release, Microsoft Speech Server 1.0, and its Laguna version of SQL Server for Windows CE during the developer confab.

At the CTIA show in Atlanta, Microsoft announced on Monday its MapPoint Location Server, which is its presence server, formerly known as the Microsoft Location Server.

And while it sounds like Microsoft will not be showing off or talking up Xbox 2 at the Game Developers Conference in San Jose, Calif., as many had originally expected, Microsoft execs J Allard and Robbie Bach are both set to speak at the gathering of the gaming faithful on Wednesday.
