Moving Basic BPM to Strategic BPI

Business process management (BPM) is a strategy that combines management methodologies, processes, and technologies to help organizations operate more efficiently, improve customer service, meet regulatory requirements, and perform other tasks in a manner that ensures best practices are being carried out. BPM software is used to enforce these procedures and facilitate best practices workflows. While closely related to BPM, Business Process Improvement (BPI) introduces other elements which are broader and more strategic in nature, including closely monitoring and analyzing processes, as well as looking at inter-relationships between various processes to continuously improve processes. The interplay between BPM and BPI can improve overall operations - boosting profitability or strengthening compliance efforts. In particular, BPI can help an organization realize its strategic goals.
