Salesforce.com Unveils Intuit, Great Plains Integration

With its sforce launch slated for this week, hosted CRM service provider Salesforce.com got a head start on its application integration push, announcing pre-built accounting adapters for Intuit QuickBooks and Microsoft Business Solutions-Great Plains accounting software.

The accounting adapters, built by eBridge Software Inc., link Salesforce.coms hosted CRM service with Intuit and Microsoft-Great Plains accounting applications, without requiring server-level integration.

Boasting a one-button installation process, the integration includes automatic synchronization of account, opportunity and contact information between the applications. Additional connectors for ACCPAC, Microsoft Great Plains Solomon and other accounting packages will be available shortly, according to Salesforce.com officials in San Francisco.

Microsoft has yet to announce back-office integration between its Microsoft CRM suite and its Great Plains applications, though such integration had been planned for the first quarter of this year.

This week, Salesforce.com is expected to announce its forthcoming sforce developers toolkit at a splashy event in New York. Salesforce is partnering with Microsoft Corp., BEA Systems, Sun Microsystems Inc. and Borland for the offering, which will give developers the “keys” to the Salesforce.com system, exposing code, system intricacies and database key indices, according to sources close to the company who are familiar with its plans.

In so doing, the hosted service will support Web services integration with other applications and be preconfigured for use with development tools like Microsoft Visual Studio .Net and Borland Jbuilder.

Sforce will also support database replication. Its expected to be available in June. Sforce will be included with Salesforce.com Enterprise Edition and be available for an extra fee to customers of the Professional and Team editions.
