Even if your client has a fully developed and continually tested disaster plan, youve got to take into account the capabilities of the organizations that they partner with for infrastructure services. We were talking with a unified-messaging provider the other day. They talked a great game plan, with replicated data sites in the United States, Europe and Asia. The same holds true for co-location facilities. While firms like AT&T, Exodus and Level 3 have their own elaborate plans for surviving fires, floods and power failures at their co-location sites, what plans are in place if the entire facility is taken out? What contingency plan is in place to transfer hosting operations to a different site? Opportunity awaits you here.
