Acer Aspire S24 All-in-One PC Combines Ample Power With Great Looks

Acer is trying to marry nice looks with high-powered features in its latest all-in-one PC, the Acer Aspire S24. The computer comes with a familiar space-saving all-in-one design featuring a thin screen that has ports in the base. It runs on Intel Core i5 processors, has a big display, and tosses in some extras such as Qi wireless charging. All those features are aimed at the busy professional that wants all the essential features in one desktop package. With its reasonable price tag Acer has good prospects of grabbing some enterprise sales from market leaders HP, Lenovo and Dell. Read on to learn more about the Acer Aspire S24 all-in-one PC.

      2This All-in-One Doesn’t Hog Desktop Space

Acer’s Aspire S24 is designed to be a space-saving all-in-one desktop. The computer’s screen measures 6mm thick and has thin bezels all around to reduce the amount of space it’ll take up on a desk. The Aspire S24’s base is where the computer’s components are stored, allowing users to easily access things like RAM, ports, and other features.

3It Includes Generous Amounts of Storage, RAM

Acer’s Aspire S24 is powerful enough to handle most tasks consumers and enterprise users would want to throw at the computer. The device runs on Intel’s eighth-generation Core i5 processor and has 1TB of storage. Perhaps most impressively, Acer is bundling a whopping 12GB of memory in the device so it can handle resource-intensive tasks such as video encoding and critical business applications.

      4It Has a Large High-Definition Screen

The all-in-one from Acer comes with a 24-inch screen that features a 178-degree viewing angle so more than one person can view the display without losing  visual acuity. The screen comes with a full-HD 1920-by-1080-pixel resolution and has a .1-inch bezel. According to Acer, its Aspire S24’s screen-to-body ratio hits 90 percent in the all-in-one.

5Qi Wireless Charging Is a Surprise

In an interesting twist, Acer revealed that the Aspire S24’s base doubles as a wireless charger. Users can simply place their smartphones, tablets, or smartwatches on the computer’s base and immediately start boosting their battery life wire free. The base is compatible with Qi-ready devices, including a slew of Android devices and Apple’s 2017 iPhones models.

6There’s Plenty of Ports on the Base

The Acer Aspire S24’s base is also home to the ports users will need to connect accessories to the computer. According to Acer, the base has one USB 3.1 Type-C port, along with three USB 3.1 Type-A ports. A single USB 2.0 port is available for other accessories. Users can also plug in an SD card into the device as well as a second monitor via an HDMI port on the base.

7It Ships With Windows 10 Home and Office 365 Free Trial

Acer’s computer is shipping with Windows 10 Home, though customers can upgrade to Windows 10 Professional from the machine. Acer is offering a 30-day free trial of Office 365 with a purchase. Acer didn’t say anything about bloatware in its announcement, but the company is notorious for bundling additional software customers don’t need with each PC it sells. So, expect to remove some unnecessary software upon breaking it out of the box.

8It Supports Wired and Wireless Network Links

Acer’s all-in-one PC is designed to be used just about anywhere in the office. So, it’s perhaps no surprise the company has bundled a dual-band 802.11ac network card in the computer so users can wirelessly connect to the Web. Those that would prefer a wired connection will find Gigabit LAN support. Acer says the Aspire S24 is compatible with Bluetooth 4.2 and a wireless keyboard and mouse are available.

      9It’s Easy on the Eyes

Acer has bundled its VisionCare solution into the Aspire S24. The feature, which is available in some but not all of the company’s computers,  filters blue light to reduce eye strain. The technology is also designed to reduce screen flicker by managing the power supply and limiting current flow variations.

      10Even the Price is Reasonable

      Even the Price is Reasonable

Acer’s Aspire S24 is available now on the company’s website. It’s also available from Amazon or NewEgg. As of this writing, Acer and Amazon are selling the machine for $900. Those who opt for NewEgg, however, can get it for the slightly discounted price of $871.

11Audio Features Are Another Strong Point

The Aspire S24 will also impress audiophiles. The machine has dual 2W speakers and a subwoofer that’s been optimized with both Dolby Audio Premium and Acer TrueHarmony. Those tuning features help improve bass performance and ensure sound quality doesn’t tail off at higher volumes.
