1Gateway Dives into Summer with ID Series Notebooks, LT23 Netbook

      1

      by Michelle Maisto

      2Gateway ID49

      2

The silver casing wrapped around Gateways 5.07-pound ID49 ID Series hides a 14-inch HD Ultrabright LED-backlit display. The notebook comes with a choice of Intel Core i3 or i5 processors and up to 8GB of DDR3 memory.

      3Nvidia Optimus

      3

Nvidia Optimus graphics technology enables the notebook to intelligently switch, depending on the task being performed, to either its Nvidia GeForce GT 330M graphics processor or an Intel HD processor. The result is a boost to the ID49’s battery life.

      4Colorful Touchpad

      4

More immediately noticeable, however, is the ID49’s glasslike, aqua-blue touchpad, which glows when touched. Pricing for the ID49 begins at $680.

      5Gateway ID59

      5

The Gateway ID59 features a 15.6-inch display, weighs 5.5 pounds and includes a dedicated numeric keypad. Like the ID49, it comes with an HDMI port, a Super DVD player and Dolby Home Theater v3 audio. Pricing begins at $800.

      6Gateway LT23 Series

      6

Gateway appears to have put a lot of consideration into dressing its LT23 Series netbook. The exterior, it explains, features “an organic woven pattern that appears to be mosaic.” The pattern continues on to the palm rest.

      7Intel Atom Chip

      7

The LT23 runs an Intel Atom N450 processor, offers 8 hours of battery life and includes an HD Webcam.

      8Colorful Netbook

      8

The LT23 netbook is now available in shades of champagne (seen here), pearl and black. A social-networking feature is integrated into a function key, which quickly delivers users to social networks such as Facebook.

      9Multigesture Touchpad

      9

The multigesture touchpad on the LT23 lets users swirl and pinch their fingers for simple navigation. On board is 1GB of memory, a 250GB hard drive, Ethernet and WiFi connectivity, and support for voice-over IP (VOIP) calls. Pricing begins at $330.
