There are some dreams that we have to admit to ourselves will never come true. I’ll most likely never get the chance to travel to another planet. And my chances of becoming a world famous rock star get smaller every year.

But I have finally gotten the chance to fulfill one of my long-held dreams.

I am now a character on The Simpsons.

I know what you’re thinking. How did you pull that off, Jim?

Well, I am now a resident of the town of Springfield, thanks to a great new Web application called the Simpsonizer. Using this simple application I was able to upload a photo of myself and with the help of the aliens Kang and Kodos I was converted into a properly drawn cartoon character from the Simpsons.

The application itself is simple enough and it provides plenty of appearance and clothing options (plus the ability to put yourself in scenes, like going to the Kwik-E-Mart).

Couple of tips. The site is busy so if you can go at off hours that will probably work best. Also, try to use a pure headshot without a lot going on in the background.

With a little luck, in no time you will see yourself in the same way that Homer, Marge, Bart and Lisa would. I have to say, it is a very cool application.

Or to put it as famous Springfield news anchor Kent Brockman would, “Is the Simpsonizer the most important technology innovation of our time? This reporter says, Yes!”
