Arbor Networks on April 2 announced a new version of Arbor Peakflow X, featuring an extended audit trail for compliance reporting and other enhancements.

Peakflow X 3.7 includes integration of data gathered by Arbors ATLAS (Active Threat Level Analysis System) in an effort to reduce the manual collection and analysis of new vulnerabilities, exploits, botnets and malware. Peakflow X 3.7 also includes enhanced Flow support for IPFIX (IP Flow Information eXport), a Web-services Application Programming Interface that allows users to perform data queries and integrate Peakflow X data with existing internal systems or customer portals.

“Enterprise networking and security staff are overwhelmed by the multitude of threats, compliance requirements and operational issues involved in managing a corporate network today,” said Paul Morville, vice president of product management of Lexington, Mass.-based Arbor Networks, in a statement. “With Peakflow X 3.7, we are addressing this through the integration of ATLAS data, APIs and User Interface improvements, all of which make it possible to automate processes and improve time to resolution.”

The extended audit trail improves compliance by enabling users to historically view and track all changes, and it provides a summary page of the 10 most-recent audit trail changes for quick review. Peakflow X constructs a system-wide view of the entire network, auto-learning host behaviors to determine who talks to whom, and how, company officials said. In real time, the tool compares traffic against these baselines to identify developing security threats that do not yet have signatures – such as zero-day vulnerabilities, officials said.

“In Peakflow X 3.7, we use the newly integrated ATLAS global threat detection along with the Active Threat Feed policies to help us detect and prioritize our internal threat mitigation efforts,” said David Arbo, director of network security at American President Lines, in a statement.

Arbor Peakflow X 3.7 is now available.
