SAN FRANCISCO—Enterprise security provider EdgeWave revealed April 21 that it is teaming up with Chinese IT giant Huawei to provide a joint, proactive solution that enterprises can use to defend themselves against advanced cyber-threats.
The announcement was made at the RSA Conference 2015 here at the Moscone Center. Huawei decided to pull back its own press release co-announcing the news. The China-based company didn’t specifiy a reason to eWEEK.
EdgeWave said that the new package combines advanced adaptive analytics from its own EPIC Security Assurance Service with Huawei’s USG6300 Series Next Generation Firewall, which provides businesses with adaptive cyber-security features.
Adaptive defense approaches cyber-security by putting the key elements—IT, industry expertise and data intelligence—of enterprise security into a single unified framework, with a single control panel. Various options can be selected as needed to satisfy enterprise requirements.
Huawei’s firewall is used globally for providing granular application control and security policy management.
San Diego, Calif.-based EdgeWave fuses machine, threat and human intelligence to create adaptive security that identifies when an organization has been hacked, provides a remediation plan to eliminate the threat and enables organizations to adapt their security policies on the Huawei firewall.
