New legislation proposed in the U.S. Senate could hold providers of file-sharing services responsible for their illegal use by third parties. Senator Orrin Hatch this week introduced the “Inducing Infringement of Copyrights Act,” a bill with support from both Republicans and Democrats.
“It is illegal and immoral to induce or encourage children to commit crimes,” said Senator Hatch in a statement.
