Security and encryption specialist AL Digital has uncovered serious flaws in the authentication and data-transfer mechanisms on some top selling Bluetooth-enabled mobile phones. One flaw would allow a hacker to access services without permission, including modems, Internet, WAP and GPRS gateways. Another is the “SNARF attack,” where data including phonebook, calendar, associated attachments and business cards can be obtained without the owners knowledge or consent.
