Security software provider Trend Micro and IT service and solution provider Sago Networks announced a partnership to provide Sago Networks and its customers a range of Trend Micro Enterprise Security products and managed service offerings.

Sago Networks offers a portfolio of managed services, IT solutions, data center hosting facilities, and custom solutions. The company builds in security to its three data centers and networks, as well as offering a broad range of end-to-end security solution choices. Sago’s CIO of managed services, Jonathan Cox, said when Sago moved from open source to an industry-standard Microsoft platform, it found Trend Micro to be the right security technology provider in protecting in-house assets and in helping to deliver world-class solutions to Sago customers.

“Our choice of security vendor was based on functionality, market share, ease of management, and ultimately ROI,” said Cox. “We have a broad range of security needs and we need protection on multiple platforms including Linux, Windows, Macintosh, and mobile devices. We chose Trend Micro because they stood out from the rest in terms of offering a breadth of hosted solutions. They help us offer robust, well-rounded solutions that can meet all levels of the industry we serve.”

Sago chose three of Trend Micro’s Enterprise Security solutions, including OfficeScan Client/Server Edition for PC and file server protection, ScanMail for Microsoft Exchange for corporate e-mail server protection and InterScan Messaging Hosted Security for anti-spam and e-mail protection. Sago has also licensed the rights to resell the complete Trend Micro solution portfolio, including home and home office solutions, small and medium business (SMB) solutions, and enterprise solutions.

Trend Micro’s Enterprise Security solution is an integrated offering of content security products, services and solutions powered by the Trend Micro Smart Protection Network. The company’s Enterprise Security solutions rely on cloud-client architecture to help businesses protect their network from malicious threats. To shorten the time to protection and reduce the complexity of on-site solutions, Trend Micro clients can query Web, e-mail and file reputation databases that are correlated in the cloud.

“Trend Micro not only offers the right products at the right price points, but has enabled us to tailor product structures and bundled solutions that suit our reseller business model,” said Cox. “As a partner, they give us the same flexibility for managed services that our customers have come to expect from us in the telecommunications business. Today, we can offer flexible licensing models that let our customers ‘true up’ and ‘true down’ on a quarterly basis. Trend Micro solutions fit our service pricing models and help keep our operating costs under control with solutions that enable very efficient, centralized management and administration.”
