So, here are some answers.
First, why isn’t Richard M. Stallman, father of GNU software and “free software” on the list? Ah, well, the people who asked this one don’t know RMS that well. RMS has never liked the term “open source” or many of its ideas. Without getting into those, suffice it to say that RMS wouldn’t want to be on any “open-source” list. Free software, yes; open source, no.
