Itself the object of acquisition chatter, JBoss has announced the acquisition of its key systems integrator and service partner in Germany, objectone GmbH.

Atlanta-based JBoss announced its acquisition of Berlin-based objectone on Feb 23. Objectone is JBoss most successful Certified Systems Integrator and Authorized Service Partner in Germany, reselling JBoss Subscription, JBoss support and services offering to enterprises throughout the country.

Effective March 1st, 2006 the newly founded JBoss Deutschland GmbH will take over objectones operations, all of its customers and the majority of its staff, JBoss officials said.

Objectone founder Tobias Hartwig will continue as managing director of JBoss Deutschland, the company said.

“Objectone has been tremendously successful in paving the way for Professional Open Source in Germany, signing an impressive number of significant deals for JBoss Subscription in recent years”, said JBoss founder and CEO, Marc Fleury, in a statement.

“We are delighted that Tobias Hartwig and his team are now joining our company to take JBoss to the next level in Germany.”

“We are seeing increasing interest from a wide range of German companies to leverage the performance and scalability of JBoss Enterprise Middleware Suite in mission-critical applications”, said Hartwig, objectone founder and managing director of JBoss Deutschland, in a statement.

“For many companies, the relationship with their service partner is a matter of trust. In addition to local language training and support as well as in depth industry expertise, they need the security of national law when it comes to contracts,” said Hartwig.

“Now that we are part of JBoss, we will continue to build on our tradition as a knowledgeable partner for enterprises throughout Germany and leverage the closer ties to JBoss internal resources for the benefit of our customers.”

The acquisition boosts JBoss presence in a market where the company has seen success as well as some backlash.

In October, a former JBoss developer accused the company of “monopolistic practices” based on the companys dealings with a German company.

JBoss officials vehemently denied the accusations.

JBoss has been the subject of acquisition rumors involving Oracle Corp. Oracle is alleged to be interested in acquiring JBoss in a deal purported to be worth $300 million or more.
