What will happen with Ximians Red Carpet system management tools for Linux, now that Ximian is part of Novell? At the BrainShare show this week, Novell officials gave a roadmap for integration between Red Carpet and its own ZenWorks tools for crossplatform management. Stops along the way include two upcoming product releases, codenamed Birdman and Brimstone.

Red Carpet today contains some capabilities for Linux management that arent available in ZenWorks, and vice versa, maintained Richard Whitehead, director of product marketing at Novell, during a press briefing at BrainShare.
