Accenture and SOASTA, a provider of performance analytics, announced they are partnering to provide faster and more reliable digital performance management solutions to clients.

Founded in 2006, SOASTA provides a cloud-based platform for monitoring, testing and optimizing the performance and function of Web and mobile applications at scale.

It also provides services that test the user interface and internal behavior of applications, as well as services that give administrators a visual view into how applications are performing.

The partnership will combine Accenture’s testing and performance engineering capabilities with SOASTA’s advanced performance management and analytics tools.

“With over $1.5 trillion of online commerce last year and competitors only a few clicks away, the issue of digital business performance has never been more critical,” Scott Wintermute, managing director and global performance engineering lead for Accenture, told eWEEK. “The ability for digital businesses to monitor, test and optimize on a continuous basis is a must-have to thrive in today’s competitive environment. Accenture and SOASTA forged this alliance to address the biggest concerns and complexities clients face as they look to gain insight from how performance impacts their business.”

The aim is to help organizations increase end-to-end performance of their websites and mobile applications and to help predict and solve performance problems from virtually any location and on any device from anywhere.

“Combining Accenture’s global testing and performance engineering capabilities with SOASTA’s advanced performance management and analytics tools will allow clients to increase end-to-end performance of their websites and mobile applications while delivering exceptional customer experiences,” said Tom Lounibos, CEO of SOASTA. “This ability to monitor customer experience in real time can help predict and solve performance problems from virtually any location and on any device around the world.”

Lounibos explained this approach can provide significant business visibility and drive revenue impact, such as in online retail where even momentary latency can result in significant drops in page views, shopping cart abandonment and ultimately, sales conversion.

Accenture said it has also made a minority investment in SOASTA, though terms of the company’s investment were not disclosed.

As part of the alliance, Accenture plans to draw on its experience with enterprise clients to advise SOASTA on their product roadmaps, while Accenture will also become a reseller for SOASTA products and will provide solution development support.

“Our clients want to manage performance and scalability in a faster but less costly fashion. Accenture is addressing this with innovative alliance partnerships to help our clients transition into the next era of digital performance by offering performance testing, advanced diagnostics, service virtualization, and analytics through on-demand performance engineering in real time at any scale,” Wintermute said. “Accenture’s belief that every business is a digital business is confirmed by the impact that milliseconds can have upon revenue, brand and competitive advantage.”
