CoroWare, a solutions integrator with expertise in high-definition video conferencing, announced it has signed a memorandum of understanding with Presence Networks to cooperatively market and sell an integrated suite of hosted collaboration and HD video conferencing solutions aimed at service providers, enterprise customers and small to midsize businesses.
CoroWare and Presence Networks plan to provide their combined customers with a more complete range of services and solutions. CoroWare will become an authorized reseller for Presence products and services and a Presence OEM developer. Founded in 2005, Presence Networks specializes in the development of real-time communications and collaboration technologies for enterprise businesses that can be delivered as a software as a service (SAAS) by service providers and telecoms operators.
Presence Networks will be designated as an authorized reseller of CoroWare’s HD video conferencing subscription services and software solutions, including CoroCall and CoroWare Billing Integration Framework. Both companies will also work collaboratively to extend Presence Networks’ Networker instant messaging platform through the integration of HD video conferencing features and billing mediation capabilities.
“By joining forces with CoroWare, we can provide our combined customer base with a full spectrum of business-class unified [communications] capabilities,” said Symon Blomfield, president of Presence. “This partnership will also position the companies to jointly deliver solutions for service providers seeking nimble and responsive solutions partners.”
According to a study published by the Radicati Group, the worldwide unified communications as SAAS market is expected to reach 136 million subscribers and $28.7 billion in worldwide gross revenues by 2012.
“Presence Networks’ service line and expertise in real-time collaboration is a strategic and logical complement to CoroWare’s HD video conferencing solutions and capabilities,” said Lloyd Spencer, CEO of CoroWare. “This partnership will, including secure messaging, presentation sharing and HD video conferencing, help customers hold virtual meetings effectively and spontaneously.”
In October, CoroWare introduced NameTag, a Windows-based application that lets desktop video conferencing users customize their Webcam experience. NameTag runs on Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 desktop platforms, and is compatible with desktop video conferencing services, including Skype, Nefsis, Oovoo andCoroCall. NameTag is also compatible with Windows-based video conferencing applications such as VidyoDesktop from Vidyo. NameTag is available online for a retail price of $14.99.
“Business meeting attendees using desktop video conferencing applications typically need to identify themselves as they join the meeting,” said Josh Sherman, business unit manager at CoroWare. “Using CoroWare NameTag, attendees can now identify themselves with their name, title and location, as well as their organization’s logo.”
