Human resource technology and solutions specialist FireWave Technology announced the release of ClearVision Performance, a software solution aimed at providing SMBs with a tool for introducing and managing an effective employee performance appraisal program. The ClearVision system is set up with job templates and competency tools for a monthly subscription rate.

ClearVision helps deliver employee review functionality critical to small businesses looking to align staff with the goals of the business in order to optimize company performance. With a site that can be configured in minutes to aggregate company core competencies, individual job competencies, and goals and objectives into a single appraisal, FireWave argues that managers become more effective in delivering productive feedback to staff.

ClearVision Performance features include a streamlined, wizard-based setup process for adding people, jobs, competencies, goals and objectives; a competency-based job template library for simple appraisal form development; adjustable weighting of appraisal sections so administrators can measure what’s important to the organization as a whole; a user-friendly dashboard that displays jobs and appraisals to help keep administrators on top of the process; pertinent metrics in report form for quick access to score averages and distributions to alleviate data entry; salary and bonus calculators to determine budget requirements for desired merit increases or bonus distributions; and ongoing enhancements and upgrades.

“We’ve had a lot of opportunity to review the performance management products that currently make up the industry, and there are a lot of great applications designed for the mid-market and up, but solutions for the SMB market are either highly robust and unaffordable, or so focused on great metrics that the actual review process gets overlooked,” said Greg Strange, senior vice president of product strategy for FireWave. “We wanted to focus on streamlining the appraisal process so managers and employees can get through it and then provide the reports HR managers or business leaders actually use. We can build onto the system from there.”

Strange said in an industry where the small business is drastically underserved by the HR software options and vendors strip down enterprise software options to “just make it work” for small business, FireWave is built from the ground up to meet the unique and challenging needs of the small business. The site explains a business begins by building their account and determining which billing method makes the most sense. Once they have secured the ClearVision subscription with a credit card, the system will generate a unique link using the company name selected. This link will take them to the company’s portal for managing employee performance appraisals.
