1Fujifilm Finepix Digital Cameras Offer New Lenses, Capabilities

      1

by Nathan Eddy Digital imaging specialist Fujifilm announced the launch of four digital cameras, the F300EXR, Z800EXR, S2800HD and JX280, featuring wide-angle zoom lenses, touch-screen capability and HD movie capturing. Ranging in price from $149.95 to $329.95, these cameras are ideal for users who want a broad range of features on a budget.

      2FinePix F300EXR ($329.95)

      2

This model includes a 15x Fujinon Super Wide-Angle lens (24mm – 360mm equivalent) and Fujifilm’s next-generation EXR technology with Hybrid High Speed Auto Focus, as well as a 12-MegaPixel EXR Super CCD, a large, 3-inch High-Contrast 460K LCD, Intelligent Image Stabilization and HD movie capture at 720p.

      3FinePix F300EXR ($329.95)

      3

The F300EXR is fitted with a high contrast 460K-pixel 3-inch LCD. Fujifilm said the high-contrast LCD is a benefit in bright light and means that the camera can be directed at various shooting angles to enable framing of awkward shots.

      4FinePix Z800EXR ($229.95)

      4

Available in matte black, red, gold or shell pink, the FinePix Z800EXR combines a large, 3.5-inch LCD with a 12-MegaPixel Super CCD EXR sensor, a Fujinon 5x optical zoom lens (36-180mm equivalent) and ISO levels of up to 1600 at full resolution.

      5FinePix Z800EXR ($229.95)

      5

The Z800EXR uses both Phase Detection AF and Contrast AF to offer fast auto focus speeds in all scenes. Also included is face-recognition technology, allowing users to identify the people in a picture by name. The technology gives users the ability to preprogram eight people into the camera.

      6FinePix S2800HD ($259.95)

      6

To provide better-exposed and focused portrait shots, the S2800HD is fitted with Fujifilm’s face detection technology, which is able to track up to 10 faces simultaneously, at almost any angle to the camera. The system instantly corrects red-eye and then saves both the original and the corrected image file automatically.

      7FinePix S2800HD ($259.95)

      7

Photobook Assist lets users select and organize images in your camera to create a digital photobook. Users can download the photobooks to their computers using MyFinePix Studio software, which is included with the camera.

      8FinePix JX280 ($149.95)

      8

This model employs a 14-Megapixel CCD, a 2.7-inch High-Resolution LCD and a Fujinon 5x wide angle (28mm-140mm) optical zoom lens, while Smile Detection works with Fujifilm’s face detection technology to detect smiles on faces – it will not take a picture until it detects a smile.

      9FinePix JX280 ($149.95)

      9

Switch on Tracking Auto Focus and it will track the subject and ensure that users achieve a crisp picture with the subject in the center of the frame and in focus. Motion panorama mode with auto stitch allows users to seamlessly stitch multiple shots together in-camera.
