Promisec Updates Endpoint Health Check Platform

Endpoint detection and remediation specialist Promisec announced an update to its Integrity service, aimed at helping small businesses and smaller enterprise organizations with endpoint risk detection through its new Endpoint Health Check.

The Integrity Health Check platform operates as an early warning system for targeted attacks by identifying in advance specific hotspots that require attention.

Upon completion of the health check, users can create a report containing the results for remediation activities and have the option to address compliance-reporting requirements.

“Any SMB or SME business would gain immediate value in these services by understanding where they would have security risk and would require immediate attention to avert a targeted attack at their endpoint systems, such as a desktop, laptops and servers,” Steve Lowing, director of product management at Promisec, told eWEEK. “Additionally any businesses in the retail space as one example, that require conformance to PCI DSS or those in health care that require compliance with HIPAA regulations.”

The service is priced for small business consumption at $10 per endpoint licensed on yearly basis, Lowing said.

Integrity includes the ability to determine unauthorized applications by validating that each endpoint is not running any applications that could permit remote control access, key logging, file sharing or hacking tools.

Antivirus validation helps ensure that each endpoint is running an up-to-date AV solution and, if not, what are the issues, while Microsoft Windows updates validate that each endpoint is up to date with the latest Microsoft updates and if not, what updates are missing.

“At Promisec we believe that with cloud technologies we can deliver on our promise that endpoint visibility can be the beacon towards identifying risks towards targeted attacks simply because the cloud allows rapid sharing and roll out of detections and protections at scale,” Lowing said. “It’s no surprise that we see numerous threat intelligence services rolling out via cloud deployment models.”

The service also includes vulnerability detection, which helps determine vulnerabilities for common user applications and frameworks such as Chrome, Firefox, Java and Adobe.

“These intel services augment and help out on-premise solutions by providing the user with updated information,” Lowing explained. “Integrity helps bridge this gap by deploying security intelligence from the cloud and provide meaningful results in a fraction of the time on-premise solutions take to deploy or operate all from within the solution.”

He also noted that when implementing endpoint risk detection, some of the immediate stumbling blocks small businesses face are just knowing where or how to begin.

“That’s where our service is so helpful, because it shines a light on what areas have risk and require attention,” he said.
