      ZIFFPAGE TITLEFull Review

The SanDisk Sansa c150 is a flash-based MP3 player available in 1-gigabyte (model c140, $109.99 list) and 2-gigabyte ($169.99 list) models. It runs on a standard triple-A battery, has an FM tuner, does voice and FM recording, and supports Audible.com content as well as subscription and download music services.

The sound quality isnt stellar, but it gets the job done, and the player itself is fairly light and compact. The c150 has a color screen and supports photos, but this is really meant as an easy-to-use budget digital audio player with very few frills. Two things that could really use some improvement, however, are the responsiveness of the buttons and the music-browser navigation.

The c150s design isnt groundbreaking, but it is certainly functional. The 3.1 by 1.4 by 0.9-inch black plastic shell weighs just 1.6 ounces (with battery) and is accented by silver-colored trim and buttons.

The buttons include a four-way rocker, center select, and menu/power, as well as a hold switch and volume buttons on the sides. Theres also a small pinhole mic next to the hold switch for making voice recordings, and a proprietary dock connector on the bottom for connecting the c150 to a PC.

The 64,000-color LCD is 1.2 inches (diagonal), too small for viewing photos comfortably but okay for reading track info. Menus are displayed in landscape mode, and you can see only three lines at a time.

One big plus for many users is that the c150 runs on a single standard triple-A battery, which is easily removable by pressing a tab on the back panel. Overall, however, the unit feels very cheaply built.

The c150 doesnt ship with much, just a triple-A alkaline battery, a sync cable, a lanyard, earbuds, and a software CD.

There are a very few optional accessories for the player available from SanDisk, such as a silicone case and FM transmitter, but nothing particularly fancy.
