Dot Hill Acquires Chaparral Network Storage

High-performance storage vendor Dot Hill Systems Corp. this week said it acquired Chaparral Network Storage Inc. for $72 million.

Chaparral is a long-standing provider of storage controller technology. The deal gives Dot Hill control over virtually all the technology that goes into its products.

“We believe that owning our own controller technology is an important step in remaining competitive and will allow us to more fully control our own destiny,” Dot Hill chief executive Jim Lambert said.
