    Hitachi Announces Sturdy Mobile Drive

      Hitachi Global Storage Technologies this week announced Travelstar 4K40, a ruggedized version of its 2.5-inch mobile disk drive.

      The company said it has increased the shock rating for the drive. In addition, Hitachi has doubled the drives rating for load and unload cycles and improved the mechanisms actuator arm.
