Storage Technology Corp. recently ended its attempt to trademark the term “information lifecycle management” (ILM). StorageTeks effort to patent the descriptive term started last September.

“We wanted to make a point that we had developed the concept in the first place,” said Chris Drago, StorageTeks public relations manager. “The aim was to bring it to light in the industry. That mission has been accomplished for us now.”
