STORServer, one of the many vendors within the burgeoning Colorado-based enterprise storage vendor community, was busy April 17 launching a new backup system for small and midsize businesses and updating its enterprise backup appliance product line.
STORServer, which sells exclusively through the channel, said that users can store from 1TB to 7TB of data per backup appliance in its new entry-level BA machine for office or data center deployments.
The BA device features a 15TB disk-based storage pool driven by a six-core processor server with 32GB of memory, which the company said users are requesting for data de-duplication and virtual machine backup requirements.
The company also refreshed its flagship Enterprise Backup Appliance (EBA) line with larger capacities, new options for both hardware and software, multiple platform deployment choices, and new network schemes for remote and virtual environments. EBAs are designed for organizations requiring less than 10TB on up to 1PB (petabyte) of data storage.
STORServer also is now marketing its STORServer Console as a standalone product for all IBM Tivoli Storage Manager installations, whereas it came only with backup solutions previously. The software allows users to configure and manage their Tivoli Storage Manager environment using a single controller interface.
Monitoring and reporting features keep users apprised of server activities in real-time with alerts available for a variety of storage conditions, the company said.
