Neoware Systems Inc. is rolling out software designed to enable enterprises to turn their PCs into thin client appliances.
ThinPC, which Neoware is unveiling on Monday, gives enterprises the benefits of thin clients—from greater security to more centralized application management and upgrades—without having to get rid of the PCs in which theyve invested so much, according to officials with the King of Prussia, Pa., company.
The software enables PCs to access and use server-based Windows and Linux applications, and enterprises can centrally manage the PCs with Neowares ezRemote Manager, which currently is used to manage thin clients from such companies as IBM, Neoware officials said.
EzRemote Management enables IT administrators to locate, manage and upgrade thin clients and PCs running ThinPC.
Pricing for ThinPC and ezRemote Manager starts at $133, although until July 31, that price is $99.
