APPLICATIONS

The newest version of Computer Associates International Inc.s Ingres II will allow businesses to develop and maintain applications across a variety of platforms, including IBMs S/390, Microsoft Corp.s Windows, Unix and Linux, company officials said.

Version 2.5 of Ingres II, the Islandia, N.Y., companys relational database management system and application development environment, includes improved file management capabilities for larger file sizes, officials said.

Ingres Version 2.5 is available now on HP-UX, Solaris, Windows NT and Linux. Support for additional platforms will follow later this year.
