Mapletree Networks Inc. is adding to its line of telecommunications infrastructure products with a compact PCI board designed for carrier-class access and gateway systems.

The MTN5300 is the latest addition to the Norwood, Mass., companys UniPorte Architecture suite of products. It works in conjunction with Mapletrees MTN4096 PCI Mezzanine Card.

The two increase scalability, ranging from 144 to 336 UniPortes, in 96-port increments. The MTN5300 can be used for voice-over-IP, remote access and wireless applications. It supports the industry standard H.100 bus for carrying Time Division Multiplexing data and makes Ethernet available, providing a direct data network connection for packet traffic.

The MTN5300 will be generally available in July. Pricing is $25 per port in quantities of 100,000 ports.
