Enterprises worried about employee abuse of corporate e-mail have some new tools at their disposal.

MicroData Software Inc. next week will release the newest version of its Cameo e-mail monitoring software. Among the new features in Version 2.0 is an internal, desk-to-desk capability that monitors intraorganizational e-mail.

Version 2.0 also includes the Topsfield, Mass., firms new Reconnaissance Engine, which searches content in employee in-boxes. The software scans e-mail and in-boxes for predetermined keywords or phrases, then forwards messages containing these items to another address for review. Pricing starts at $179.
