NEC Solutions America Inc. announced on Thursday that it plans to buy systems integrator Exinom Technologies Inc. and merge it with Niteo Partners Inc., a technology consulting firm that is a subsidiary of NEC.

Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed. The sale is expected to be completed within a few weeks.

Exinom, of Iselin, N.J., specializes in CPM (corporate performance management), business intelligence and data warehouse technology solutions, and will complement Niteos focus on portals, content management and Web services, according to the companies. Niteo is headquartered in New York.

According to officials with NEC, of Sacramento, Calif., Exinoms expertise in CPM—processes and systems used to calculate the business performance of a company—will be a key addition to Niteos and NECs offerings.

“Exinoms corporate performance management competencies represent another critical element that will strengthen the repertoire of integrated solutions NEC Solutions America offers,” said Toshi Iwanami, president and CEO of NEC Solutions America. “Exinoms success in bringing business intelligence innovation to Global 2000 customers complements NECs rich history of technological expertise, and once acquired will further enable NEC to deliver its vision of the Connected Enterprise in North America.”

NEC officials also said that Exinom will bring expertise in managing offshore software development and maintenance capabilities.
