Internet traffic monitors arent new, but the relaunch of internettrafficreport.com, a free service provided by Opnix, provides a neat peek at worldwide Web performance.
Although the free Web site is a hook for the companys Orbit 1000 performance-monitoring tool, which is still in beta, I found that the sites ping-based reports of router performance in different continents and even some cities offer insight about Internet performance.
The site is updated every 15 minutes and provides performance graphs for the last seven days and 30 days that show packet loss, response time and an overall “traffic index.”
