In the trend toward partnering with best-of-breed technology providers, a pair of IT consulting firms chose this week to align themselves with two vendors in the promising SAN management and service-level management spaces.
RJ Technology Solutions yesterday said that it has signed on to InfoVistas newly created partner program to provide implementation services built around InfoVistas performance management suite.
The Farmington Hills, Mich., firm chose InfoVistas software because of its flexibility and open architecture.
Despite the downturn in IT spending, InfoVistas tools have continued to sell; the company earlier this week announced its revenue increased by 6 percent for its 2002 fiscal year over 2001.
Paris-based InfoVista, for its part, earlier this week appointed a new president of North American operations. Robert Seebold will oversee InfoVista operations from its New York headquarters. Seebold, a former Tivoli Systems executive, is charged with helping InfoVista meet its growth goals for North America.
Meanwhile, in the SAN management space, Greenwich Technology Partners this week signed on to become one of the first InterSAN professional services providers.
The White Plains, N.Y., consulting and systems integration firm already has one implementation of InterSANs Pathline software under its belt with Chicago banking behemoth Northern Trust.
Greenwich Technology Partners chose the InterSAN tool because they believed it provided best-of-breed functionality, according to Brandon Lambert, practice leader for systems and storage in Denver, Colo.
“We liked what we had seen with their product—the policy provisioning, policy management and charge back capabilities, and the reporting. We see a lot of storage needs now within companies trying to create the service provider model with internal lines of business. They need guaranteed Quality of Service, meeting SLAs, and they need a way to report back what each customer is using,” he said. “We recognized InterSAN was creating that capability and they were the company to encompass all those (capabilities) for a (Storage Services Provider) in one product.”
Also signing on as an InterSAN services provider is CTS Professional Services, of Roswell, Ga.
