Softheon Inc. this week unveiled an upgraded version of its document management suite aimed at automating existing paper and people processes online.
The Hauppauge, N.Y., companys Enterprise Document Management suite Version 5.0 includes greater central control features and enables businesses to better manage content from legacy mainframe systems.
The goal is to increase productivity by enabling businesses to streamline and automate e-business processes.
“The key is content,” said Softheon CEO Eugene Sayan. “How do you manage it?”
Current versions of EDM already have tools for scanning, image printing and fax management. New features include AdminDesk, which enables administrators to centrally manage of business documents throughout the system.
DataDesk eliminates the need for manual data entry by enabling users to create, index, store and maintain reports from mainframe systems, and DocumentDesk offers document and records management capabilities.
EDM 5.0, which is available now, also can be used in conjunction with Softheons Enterprise Information Portal and Web Content Management suites.
The EDM 5.0 suite is compatible with Microsoft Corp.s Windows 95, 98, NT Workstation 4 or Windows 2000 running on Intel Corp. Pentium processors.
