The newest version of Abaco PR Inc.s mobile application development framework and thin-client server provides greater hardware extension plug-ins. Varadero Version 2.0 allows developers using Microsoft Corp.s Visual Basic and Borland Software Corp.s Delphi to create radio-frequency-connected enterprise applications for Windows CE, Pocket PC, Palm and Telnet-enabled mobile devices. Abacos plug-ins also enable color, audio messaging, magnetic card readers and portable printers for mobile uses.

Using the thin-client architecture, developers need only write code for a single application to deploy over different platforms, saving time and money developing applications. Abaco is giving away single-user licenses on its Web site, www.abacoinc.com. For other pricing information, the company can be reached in Roswell, Ga.
