AT&T’s Latest No-Contract GoPhone, the ZTE ZMAX 2, Arrives

The $150 prepaid ZTE ZMAX 2 smartphone, now available from AT&T, includes a 5.5-inch HD display, an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and more.

The new handset features a 5.5-inch HD display, 2GB of memory, a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and 16GB of on-board storage, which is expandable up to 32GB with a micro SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) card.

With its 8-megapixel rear-facing main camera and its 2MP front-facing camera, the ZMAX 2 lets users capture quality photos and selfies wherever they go. The main camera also provides capabilities for 1080p video recording.

Runs on Android 5.1

The ZMAX 2 phone runs on the Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system using AT&T’s GSM network. The handset also includes Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity and Dolby audio. The smartphone has a bottom-mounted power cord port and sells for $149.99.

The first ZTE ZMAX smartphone was released in mid-2014 in conjunction with T-Mobile. That phone had a 5.7-inch HD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processor, a 3,400mAh battery and ran on Android 4.4.KitKat.
