Danger Inc. finally has announced its long-awaited wireless Internet device, dubbed Hiptop.

The Palo Alto, Calif., startups Hiptop enables customers to browse the Internet, exchange instant messages, send and receive e-mail with attachments, and make phone calls. The product also includes a little camera.

The device comes with back-end services and Java-based software. Wireless carriers will be able to take the reference designs for the device and the accompanying services and build and market them themselves.

Carriers are expected to start selling Hiptop by the end of the year. Danger and its partners will announce pricing and availability in the next few months, according to officials.
