    HTC Cuts Price of U Ultra Smartphone to $599 Through April 23

      HTC is offering special spring sale pricing through April 23 for several of its latest smartphone models, including $150 off its new flagship U Ultra handset, $150 its Bolt smartphone and $300 off the HTC One A9 phone.

      HTC announced the price cuts for the U.S. market April 16 for U.S. consumers and are only available through Sunday, April 23 from HTC’s website.

      Under the special offer, the new HTC U Ultra handset is priced at $599, a $150 discount from its regular $749 price tag. The HTC U Ultra is a 4G LTE unlocked phablet with a 5.7-inch quad HD curved-edge touch-screen display with (2560 x 1440 pixel resolution.

      It also has a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 cover, a second smaller 2.05-inch display for quick access to information, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 quad-core processor, 4GB of memory and 64GB of built-in storage.

      The U Ultra also includes a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus, optical image stabilization (OIS), face detection, an f/1.8 aperture Sapphire lens and 4K video recording, a 16MP front-facing camera with auto HDR and full HD 1080p video recording,

      U Ultra also comes with a molded glass front and back covers and polished metal sides as well as HTC USonic sound capabilities, which adjust the phone to the user’s inner ear and adapts the device’s sound profile to the user’s preferences.

      It also has HTC’s personal digital companion, called Sense, which learns the owner use patterns and to help make phone calls, send messages or begin hands-free navigation. Also included is HTC’s UH OH protection, which provides complimentary one-time replacement of the device if it the screen breaks or if the device suffers water damage.

      The HTC U Ultra began shipping in the U.S. in March and aims to compete with other leading phablets such as the Samsung Galaxy S8+ and S8, as well as the iPhone 7 from Apple.

      The phone is an unlocked GSM device that is compatible with AT&T, T-Mobile and other GSM networks.

      The U Ultra runs on the Android 7.0 operating system and features Bluetooth 4.2, Near-Field Communications and WiFi 802.11 connectivity, VoLTE and WiFi calling capabilities and a USB It also has a 3.1 Type-C port, a 3,000mAh battery with a rapid charger, expandable microSD storage up to 2TB and an included clear protective case.

      Also on sale is the HTC Bolt 9, which was released in November 2016 and the One A9, which was released the fourth quarter of 2015. The Bolt, which includes a 5.5-inch quad HD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor and a 16MP main camera is sale priced at $450, a $150 break for its regular price of $600, while the One A9 smartphone is sale priced at $199, a $300 discount from its regular price of $499.
