Resonate Inc.s Commander Solutions steers away from traffic management.

Resonate Inc. is moving from its traffic management roots into the murky service-level management arena with Version 2.0 of its Commander Solutions performance monitoring and management software.

The software, which has evolved to combine traffic monitoring, performance testing, reporting and traffic redirection, lets users isolate or resolve performance problems based on what an end user is experiencing instead of what an individual component is doing, said officials with the Sunnyvale, Calif., company. It enables users to define relationships among components and what the end user is experiencing.

It is due by the middle of next month for Windows 2000 and Solaris.
