Dell XPS 13 (2026): The closest Windows answer
Price: From $699, or $599 with a student discount, putting it directly in the same price conversation as Apple's laptop.
The Dell XPS 13 is probably the most direct response to what Apple is doing with the Neo.
Dell keeps the aluminum chassis and compact design that have made the XPS line popular, while adding several features the Neo does not offer. Its 13.4-inch 2.5K touchscreen runs at 120Hz and reaches about 500 nits, while both USB-C ports support 10Gbps transfers and DisplayPort. It also has a backlit keyboard and Windows Hello face unlock.

The biggest difference is configurability. The XPS 13 can be configured with up to an Intel Core Ultra 7 Series 3 processor and 32GB of RAM, while the Neo is fixed at 8GB.

ASUS Vivobook 14: The port and battery bargain

The ASUS Vivobook 14 is one of the more interesting alternatives because it addresses two of the Neo's weakest areas at once: battery life and ports.
It comes with a Snapdragon X processor, 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD. Testing cited in the source material puts battery life around 15 to 19 hours.

Acer's Swift Go 14 takes a different route. Instead of trying to beat the Neo in processor performance, it puts a huge battery into a relatively compact Windows machine.
