Intel Corp. is looking to speed up the low end.
The Santa Clara, Calif., chip maker this week released two new versions of its Celeron processors—aimed at home desktop PCs—that run at 2.10GHz and 2.20GHz.
The current fastest is the 2GHz Celeron.
The new Celeron chips feature a 400MHz bus and 128KB of Level 2 cache.
Pricing for the 2.10GHz Celeron starts at $89 in 1,000-unit quantities, while the 2.20GHz version starts at $103.
